Annual Mission Meeting

A couple weeks ago we had our annual meeting for all of the IMB missionaries here in Mexico. It was a great week of worship and fellowship with people we don't get to see very often. It was a little weird though eating on an American schedule all week (since I'm used to eating lunch around 4 each day and sometimes not even eating dinner) and speaking English all week! One of the best parts of the week for me was getting to see the Young family. They are part of my university team here and they have been in the States for the past year. It was good to be able to sit down and talk with them and catch up on what has been happening in our lives. Below is a picture of the university ministry team: Don and Edith, Nolan, me, Laura and Steve.

One night during the week we had a special recognition service for missionaries whose terms are ending soon. Kim and I will be leaving sometime around the beginning of November and Nolan left about a week ago to go back home to Georgia.
The three of us journeymen who are finishing our terms were able to share a little about what we have seen God do these past 2 years and what our future plans are.
Kim and I have tons of pictures of us from these past 2 years but why not add another to the collection?

There isn't a whole lot of exciting things in Leon, the city where we have our mission meeting. But there is an HEB, a grocery store chain from Texas, which means lots of American food at normal prices. So before heading back to Guadalajara, the Ostertag family, Kim, and I made a stop to stock up on some things. Below are Mckenzie and Kaitlyn looking pretty happy with all the food in the buggy (for Kim who speaks a different language than me that means shopping cart in other parts of the States :)
The most exciting thing we found were canned biscuits and cinnamon rolls. I enjoy homemade biscuits and am trying to perfect my biscuit making skills but I have missed the simple convenience of being able to pop open a can of biscuits. Now we are set for the next couple of months.
