For two special people....
In honor of my parents' anniversary and Father's Day, I want to dedicate this post to my mom and dad. On June 6, they celebrated 38 years of marriage. That is something rare and remarkable in the world we live in today. Thank you, mom and dad, for your example of commitment and loving each other in both the good times and bad. Without you, I wouldn't be who I am today. To be a little cheesy and borrow from the words of Brad Paisley, "Every single choice we make, every breath we get to take is all because two people fell in love." Thank you for your endless support throughout the years, whether that meant year after year of helping with school projects, being at every one of my softball games from the age of 5 to 18, spending every summer traveling to tournaments every weekend, supporting me when I decided to move to a different country for 2 years, or countless other things. Thank you for the innumerable amount of times you have told me throughout the years how much you love me and how proud you are of me. Even though I may not always show it, I appreciate you more than you know and love you more than words can express. Happy Anniversary!
Thank you Dad for the way you have made sacrifices all these years to support our family. Even now as you go through chemo treatments every other week, thank you for the way you continue to work hard to provide for our family. I think finding out about the cancer has been one of the most difficult things our family has faced, but I'm proud of the way we have stuck together instead of falling apart. The unity our family shares can only be attributed to the grace of God, the loving way you and mom have raised us, and the quality time we have spent together, including all those times I can remember us sitting around the kitchen table having a good time just by playing games together. I'm sure I speak for the 4 of us kids when I say thank you for everything you've done for us. I hope you have a great Father's Day! I love you both!
