A great weekend...

This weekend has been filled with opportunities to hang out with my friends from campus and I have loved every minute of it. For those of you who don't know, I am taking a salsa class on campus this semester. Signing up for a dance class knowing I would be the only american in there with a bunch of mexicans who can dance well is something I never would have done before. But I really thought it would be fun and a great way to meet students so I got up the nerve to do it. I have met some great people in that class and I look forward to it each week. Students here love to go out salsa dancing so it's a way I can relate and connect with them and actually through going out with them I have had several opportunities to have good conversations and share with them.

Friday night Laura and Claudia from my conversation club invited me to go with them to celebrate one of their friend's birthday.

After hanging out with Laura and Claudia, I met up with Diego and Karla. They are both in my salsa class on campus and Karla is also in my conversation club.

Lately I seem to have met several other Lauras. The girl on the right is also named Laura and is in my conversation club. Friday was her birthday so there was a whole group of us that went salsa dancing to celebrate her birthday.

Saturday we had a carne asada at Hugo's house (Hugo is Misael's cousin). The guy on the left is Fernando. He recently became a believer and is beginning to be very involved at the student center.

Misael and I with yet another friend named Laura. She was in my conversation club the past semester but because her school and work schedule have changed we hardly ever get to see each other anymore. This was actually the first time I had seen her in about 3 months so Misael and I had fun getting to spend time with her again.
