Celebrating the Fourth of July...again

Yesterday Kim and I had a Fourth of July party for our Mexican friends. Many of them couldn't come last week so we had to have it a week late. They really could care less about celebrating the independence of the United States, but we knew they would come for the food and we could show them what some real American food is like. Since Kim was in the States last month and could bring things back, we decided to go all out and be as tacky as we could and have lots of decorations as you can tell by our great hair accessories below.

Doesn't Izzy look cute with her hairbows and new toy?

The whole family needs raincoats during rainy season
This picture is missing a few people. In all, we had about 30 people come to our house for lunch which is way more than we were expecting.
My friends Chadi, Jeannete, and Anai from campus
Laura, Laura, and Allan from my conversation club

Hair accessories, banners, ribbons, temporary tattoos....we may have gone a little overboard. Surprisingly, though, the girls loved the tattoos and were putting tons of them on!
Kim and I put the charcoal in, lit the grill, and then let Manuel take over from there
Yum....American food...hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, baked beans, watermelon

Dessert is always everyone's favorite part...probably because the desserts in this country really aren't any good....they loved the banana pudding and our chocolate flag cake
We also made homemade ice cream for them. The machine was so loud though that we had to find a plug upstairs to use somewhere where we could close the door. Doesn't everyone make ice cream in the bathroom?

Second you are stinking hilarious for having another 4th of July party. But I love it. I hope we get to talk soon.
