My friends

I figured I should update my blog before I leave on Friday. Amy, the other journeyman here in Mexico on the university team, and I will be traveling to several other cities and will be gone for the whole month of June. So far it looks like we will fly up north to Hermosillo and then travel by bus to Ciudad Obregon, Los Mochis, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. We will stay about 4-6 days in each city. Some of these cities already have existing student ministries and some do not. We will be seeing what is going on with students in these cities, seeing if there are students who want to get some kind of ministry started, and doing some training for student leaders. Hopefully we will also gain some insight and ideas for our own ministries.

The month of April and May have mostly been spent doing my conversation clubs and continuing to build relationships with students. I am really excited about some of the girls God has brought into my life and I love getting to spend time with them.
My friend Adriana and I. She is 25 years old, a nurse, and teaches a nursing class on the medical campus. Sometimes I go to her nursing class to hear the terminology in Spanish and then I teach it back to her in English. I've been able to go to her house twice and have met all of her family. She has become one of my best friends here in Guadalajara.

While my friend Briana was here she got to experience one of my favorite activities here....salsa dancing. It is cultural thing that most students here love to go do. It has been a good way to spend time with students outside of school. We went with Ixchel, a girl from one of my conversation clubs.
When the first volunteer group was here in March we met this group of students on campus. I have been able to keep in contact with them and do many things with them outside of school such as going to the movies, going salsa dancing, going to one of the girl's house, and going to the park. Jeannete, Chadi, Lila, Jasmin, Reno, and Valentine are quickly becoming good friends.

These are some of my students from one of my conversation clubs.

Hanging out with Jeannete on campus

This past week we had a volunteer team here from back home. It was good to be able to spend some time with people from back home.On Saturday we had a cookout for students at one of the parks here. Becky did a 'Paint Talk' to share the gospel with them.Worship at a park on Sunday.
