Now that things have slowed down a bit.....

This past week has been so crazy. A couple of weeks ago I met a girl on the medical campus named Adrianna. She is 25 and is teaching nursing classes there. She invited me to come to her class anytime just to watch and to learn some terminology in Spanish. I went one day and it was alot of fun. Then she invited me to come to her house last Saturday for her grandmother's birthday party. Her whole family was there....aunts, uncles, cousins, everyone. There was probably around 40 people there. It was so much fun! It was definitely a Mexican party. We had pozole (a traditional Mexican soup with pork and hominy), mole (a traditional sauce...there are lots of different kinds...but they usually have chocolate and chili in them...to me it always sounds like a bunch of stuff just thrown together), mariachis there playing music, and dancing. It was a great night and I am so excited to see what God is going to do in this new friendship. On Sunday, a volunteer team arrived from back home. We had an amazing week here ministering to university students and I couldn't have asked for a better team to come. They had a passion to share with students and hearts to serve in whatever way was needed. During the day we split up into three groups and went to 3 different campuses here. We had a game and surveys that we did with the students on campus as a way to start conversations with them. We were able to make so many contacts and there were many opportunities for us to share the gospel. On Tuesday and Thursday nights, we had a special event at the CEB for students with games, a skit, testimonies, and a gospel presentation. We had about 30 students come on Tuesday night and about 25 come on Thursday night. So much truth was shared with university students this week. Pray that God would continue to let the truth that they have heard resound in their hearts and minds until they understand their need for Him. Pray for Jorge, Manuel, and I as we will be able to follow up with these contacts we have made. Helping out around the CEB by painting our fence out front

"Sin Box"- One of the skits the group did. Kate is showing Amanda the only thing that can free her from sin is the Word of God.

Josh, Alan, Kim, and I with some students we met

Another skit that the group did showing some different sins and strongholds that people might get weighed down by and held captive by and how Jesus can free them from those.
Maricela and Susanna, two girls from one of my English conversation clubs

Me with Becky, one of the missionaries here, and Judy, one of my best friend's mom, who came with the group

It was so fun to get to hang out with Ashley, one of my best friends from back home, this week
