The past 2 weeks students have had vacation from classes. This is when I went to the conference in Queretaro and to the mountains. Also during this time my friend Amy, a journeyman in Puebla, came to visit me in Guadalajara and see the city. We had so much fun just hanging out and it is always encouraging to spend time with her. Kim, Amy, and I also hopped on a bus and went to the beach for a couple days. We just spent 2 days there but it was nice to get away and relax.
Amy and I after enjoying our tortas
Tortas ahogadas- a typical food of Guadalajara. It is a sandwice usually with pork and then it is "drowned" in sauce.

Amy doesn't have a Dairy Queen in Puebla where she lives so of course we had to take her while she was here.

We also went to the VIP theater while she was here. I had never been before but we decided to splurge while she was here. There are leather recliners and waiters that will bring your food and drinks. It is about the same price as a movie back in the United States.
