Two Thanksgiving Feasts!

On the Monday before Thanksgiving, Kim and I hosted a traditional Thanksgiving meal for 23 of our Mexican friends. Since there is no Thanksgiving holiday here in Mexico, we wanted to show our friends what Thanksgiving is all about. Kim and I were a little unsure about cooking so much food in our small, unreliable oven, but everything turned out great! We had a great time of fellowship, sharing with each other what we have been thankful for this past year. I was excited to have both friends of mine there who are believers and also friends from campus and my conversation club.

Our friends were surprised by how much food we had! You can't see it all here but we had turkey, stuffing, broccoli casserole, green bean casserole, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, cornbread, biscuits, corn, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, a dessert called purple lady, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and brownies.

Notice the bottle of Valentinos...some of them couldn't go one meal without putting chile on their food.

A picture of most of our group...some had already left.

On Thanksgiving day, Kim and I went to a Thanksgiving dinner for the IMB missionaries here in Guadalajara and also some missionaries from a different organization.
