Sleepovers and Parades
A couple of weeks ago, Kim and I had a sleepover at our house for our friends from the student center that I work at. Also, Kim's friend Christa came because she is here in Guadalajara studying Spanish this semester. My friends from the CEB are my closest friends here and I love getting to spend time with these sisters in Christ! It was your typical sleepover I guess- lots of junk food, lots of dancing, girl talk, and watching a movie until we all ended up falling asleep at about 3 in the morning. We had a great time and are already talking about needing to have another one soon!

Me with my line dancing students. They were fast learners and had a great time!
Jorge came to drop Ceci off and we made him take a bunch of pictures of us
The dance game "Little Sally Walker" always provides a lot of laughs
We moved from line dancing to salsa dancing
Kim and I with our amazing salsa skills
And still more dancing with Dance Dance Revolution
Everyone else was worn out but Christa and I continued with the Cotton Eyed Joe
During the month of September there is a mariachi festival here in Guadalajara, the birthplace of the mariachi. There are mariachis who come from all over the world. On Saturday there was a parade through the city to begin the festival.
There were mariachis in the parade from several different places, including cities all over Mexico, the United States, and one random group from Sweden. Mariachi music has spread all over the world since having its beginning in Guadalajara!
There was also lots of folkloric dancing in the parade
