Pictures from Women's Retreat

At first, it just started out that we were going to be doing a dance at the Women's Retreat. But when Kim and I found out some of the old songs it included we thought "Why not make tie dyed shirts for all of us?" The idea continued to evolve in mine and Kim's head and we had to finish the look with side ponytails and scrunchies.

Here we look synchronized while doing "Keep On" from the Brady Bunch

I love this picture that shows how completely unsynchronized we are during "Thriller."

Meet Pat, our speaker for the weekend

Kim and I had the privilege of doing the "Can't Touch This" part.

When Kim saw that there was Cotton-Eyed Joe in the dance she automatically assigned that part to me.

This is the team that came to lead the Women's Retreat, minus Judy: Angie (FBC Powell), Pat (Living Vessels Ministries), Ashley (FBCP), Ashleigh (FBCP), Kathy (FBCP), Lisa (LVM), Pat (FBCP), and Marsha (LVM). Living Vessels Ministries is based in Knoxville so it was great to have women there from my home church and from Knoxville.
Judy, the other woman from Living Vessels Ministries, with Lisa, David Haynes' sister. One of Judy's best friends is one of my dad's chemo nurses so it was nice to make a small connection from home.
Kim and I with Lori Jones. Lori and her husband serve in Queretaro, the city where I studied Spanish for 10 weeks. She is such a sweet, godly woman and so much fun to be around. Her and her husband finish their term in a few weeks so hopefully Kim and I will be taking a trip to Queretaro to spend time with them before they leave.

Ashley is one of my best friends from back home. She came to lead worship for us and did a great job!
Kim and I with Pat, our speaker for the retreat. She was our speaker last year as well and Kim and I have just come to love Pat. She has so much godly wisdom and insight to offer. She's also a lot of fun to hang out with. Her and Judy stayed up late playing cards with Kim and I one night and I think we may have laughed more than actually playing the card game.
